Sergio G. Barrera is a first-generation Chicano from the Texas-M矇xico borderlands. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigans Department of American Culture with a specialization in Latina/o studies and digital studies. Barreras scholarly work lies at the intersection of anti-patriarchal masculinities, performance as pedagogy, and community formations among Latino and Black men. His current work is looking at the ways that drag economies have adapted and adjusted to current rhetoric that is anti-trans, anti-queer, and anti-drag. Additionally, Dr. Barrera oversees the Mens Circulo and is excited to continue his work around brotherhood alongside the community at 91做厙.
